USF Judy Genshaft Honors College Welcomes 2026 Wilcox Scholars
Dedicated to developing future leaders in public service, the Wilcox Scholars Program at the USF Judy Genshaft Honors College provides students with opportunities to explore policy, civic engagement, and global issues. USF Honors College Names First Blanchard Sustainability Leadership Prize Student Recipients
Three Judy Genshaft Honors College students — McKenzie Newbern, Brady Quinn, and Luci DiBonaventura — were named inaugural recipients of the college’s Blanchard Sustainability Leadership Prize, earning funding and mentorship to support projects focused on environmental restoration, community storytelling, and local health access.

Daniela Zamora Alviarez Selected as USF’s 2026 Ralph C. Wilcox Outstanding Graduate
College of Engineering student Daniela Zamora Alviarez was recognized as the 2026 Wilcox Outstanding Graduate and received the USF Golden Bull Award, the GEM Fellowship, and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship in recognition of her work to advance energy-efficient computing through research in nanotechnology and materials science.

Second-year USF College of Arts and Sciences and Judy Genshaft Honors College student Mckenzie Newbern will intern with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in summer 2027 after building a solid foundation working on oyster restoration projects in the Tampa Bay region.

Hanan Ibrahim Selected as USF’s First Luce Scholar
USF Judy Genshaft Honors College and College of Arts and Sciences alum Hanan Ibrahim will spend a year abroad studying Afro-Asian culture and language as a Luce Scholar. A current National Cancer Institute Fellow studying at the intersection of health and humanities, Ibrahim seeks to develop treatment for disease that is scientifically sound and culturally grounded.

Two USF Students Named 2026 Goldwater Scholars
°®ÎÛ´«Ã½ third-year students Caleb Fernandes and Diya Upadhyaya have been awarded the nation’s highest honor for undergraduate STEM research, the Goldwater Scholarship. Continuing its remarkable research growth, USF has now produced at least one Goldwater Scholar every year since 2018.
