EarthRISE Developers Academy

EarthRISE is building the next generation of science leaders through hand-on projects applying NASA's cutting-edge satellite data to real-world challenges to advance earth science and bridge Earth science with the future of space exploration and stellar humanism. Participants have the opportunity to work together on teams guided by NASA science advisors, in partnership with decision-makers to expand their skills, to use NASA science data to address environmental concerns.

We present this marvelous opportunity to expand you reach to the start and far beyond. Students that have skills in Earth, environmental, and/or planetary sciences, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and/or computer science are encouraged to further their careers with this opportunity to enhance their personal and professional development. Along with the chance to continue to build the social skills needed by working together with 4-5 other like-minded people. 

The projects offered at EarthRISE typically fall within one of the following NASA Earth Action thematic areas:

  • Agriculture
  • Disasters
  • Ecological Conservation
  • Energy & Infrastructure
  • Health & Air Quality
  • Water Resources
  • Wildland Fires

The Spring 2027 Term is accepting application starting August 31st until October 9th. The Spring 2027 Term for EarthRISE Developers Academy will run from January 11th to April 16th, 2027
