Shruti Dhuri
Email: shrutidhuri@usf.edu
Degree: M.A. in Global Sustainability
Concentration: Sustainable Business
Bio:
Hey! I’m Shruti — the girl with the big purple glasses. I did my undergrad in Fashion and worked as an apparel designer for three years. Seeing how wasteful the fashion industry was, I entered the realm of sustainability. Currently, I’m the Event Coordinator for GLOBE (Global Leaders Outreach for a Better Environment) and work with Suit-A-Bull, an on-campus professional clothing closet. I love working on user-centric ideas. If you have any fun concepts or projects and want to brainstorm, I’m all ears!
Savannah Jewett
Email: jewetts@usf.edu
Degree: M.A. in Global Sustainability
Concentration: Climate Mitigation and Adaptation
Bio:
Hello, everyone! My name is Savannah. My journey began with a degree in Sustainability Management from St. Petersburg College, where I developed a strong foundation in responsible resource use, community action, and environmental leadership. Now at the Patel College, I’m continuing that mission with a focus on waste mitigation and innovative upcycling projects that turn discarded materials into something useful, valuable, and often beautiful. Education and awareness are at the heart of why I joined this program. I love sharing sustainability strategies, helping others make small yet impactful changes, and demonstrating how accessible and creative green living can be. Patel College is an incredible place to learn, grow, and collaborate, and I’m proud to represent a community that cares so deeply about the planet. One of my favorite aspects of Patel College is the diversity of voices and experiences it offers. Everyone has something different to contribute, and those unique perspectives make discussions richer and ideas stronger. What really stands out is how open and respectful the community is. People don’t just share ideas; they listen to each other, build on each other’s strengths, and work together. It’s a supportive environment where collaboration truly matters. If you ever have questions about sustainability, upcycling, the ambassador program, or Patel College, I’m always happy to talk and help! Please feel free to contact me via the email address provided above.

Afsana Subha
Email: afsanasubha@usf.edu
Degree: M.S. in Global Sustainability
Concentration: Water Sustainability
Bio:
My name is Afsana Subha, and I am a master’s student in Global Sustainability with a concentration in Water Sustainability at the °®ÎÛ´«Ã½. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biological Health Sciences and Health IT from the University of South °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ and a diploma in Public Health from Hillsborough Community College. Before beginning my graduate studies, I worked for four years as a Clinical Research Associate, gaining extensive experience in medical device and pharmaceutical studies across cardiology, neurology, infectious disease, and pathology. In this role, I managed clinical trial operations, coordinated with research teams, and ensured strict compliance with ICH/GCP guidelines and federal regulations. I developed a strong foundation in data management, regulatory documentation, and patient safety oversight while working with both academic and hospital-based research environments. Through my experience in healthcare research, I became increasingly aware of how environmental systems directly affect human health. This connection inspired my transition into sustainability, where I aim to apply my analytical and regulatory skills to address water-related challenges. My academic focus includes wastewater management, water resource management, and sustainable urban water systems. I am particularly interested in developing practical and research-based solutions for improving water quality and accessibility, especially in regions where water contamination and resource scarcity threaten public health. My goal is to bridge my background in health sciences and research with sustainable water management practices that support both environmental resilience and community well-being.
