
Aligned with USF’s principles of community and inclusion, Ms. Cherine Chehab has played a critical role in the success of the Department of Medical Engineering, first as Academic Advisor and now as our sole Academic Services Administrator (ASA). With a master’s in BME, she is exceptionally qualified to help our faculty and assist guiding students through one of the College’s most complex curricula.
Her impact is especially evident in supporting women and international students in BME, contributing to above-average success and retention rates. Cherine consistently demonstrates exceptional professionalism, treating all students with respect and care, regardless of background.
She exceeds expectations in innovation and inclusion, organizing student-centered events such as graduate/undergraduate orientations, academic and career-readiness workshops, and new Ph.D. recruiting initiatives. She has also supported university-wide efforts in collaboration with USF Career Services and completed the °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Coaching Collaborative Training Program to further advance USF’s strategic goals. In times of departmental transition, Ms. Chehab has taken on additional responsibilities beyond her role, helping train new staff and maintain continuity. Her dedication, creativity, and leadership have made her indispensable to our department’s continued success and community-building efforts.
