The 14th Annual Management Information Systems (MIS) Academic Leadership Conference (MALC 2026) brings senior leaders together to discuss field level strategic opportunities and challenges.

MALC is a small, interactive setting to address important topics including curriculum, placement, enrollment, research, GenAI, faculty, and industry collaboration.

Established in 1984, the School of Information Systems (SIS) is proud to host MALC 2026 as part of its 40th year celebrations. SIS has over 10,000 alumni and about 1,000 current students across undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. Among the first in the nation to offer AI programs, SIS faculty are recognized for research on AI, analytics, design science, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and machine learning.  

MALC is relevant for academics with leadership roles, such as:

  • Presidents, Deans, Department Chairs, Area Coordinators, and Program Heads
  • Directors of undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral MIS programs
  • Research Center Directors
  • Journal Editors and Association Leaders

    • 8.30am – 5.00pm: Conference program including breakfast and lunch
    • 6.00pm – 9.00pm: Social Event

    • 8.30am – 12.00pm: Conference program including breakfast and box lunch

The Hilton Tampa Downtown is next to the and many restaurants. A shuttle will transport registered MALC attendees to the University of South °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ – the main conference venue. The hotel is a short walk to the opening reception. 

Travel to Tampa

is a major, modern, and very convenient airport which offers non-stop flights to most US cities. TPA is 7 miles and about 20 minutes to the Hilton.

is much smaller and older but offers non-stop flights to smaller US regions. PIE is 17 miles and about 30-40 minutes to the Hilton.
